Joining the Water Supply Plant

Submit the application for joining the water and/or sewer network to the Tohmajärvi water supply plant well in advance of the actual joining date.
Based on the information given in the application, we will send the information of the connection point and the related agreement to the applicant.

The applicant will be provided with a map that indicates the point in the main network to connect the building to the plant network.
When connecting a new building, the actual connection point must be requested before submitting the building permit application to the municipality.

The connection costs will be invoiced, according to the confirmed water supply plant payment rates.

The connection charge to cover the main network building costs is based on the floor area as per the building permit for the connected property buildings multiplied by a coefficient specified for the type of property.

• Detached houses (single-family or two-family house), coefficient 6
• Terrace houses, coefficient 6
• Others, coefficient 4

With the following conditions:

• Single-family house with one apartment, for the part exceeding 200 floor-m²
• Terrace house and semi-detached house, for the part exceeding 400 floor-m²
• Multi-storey building, for the part exceeding 800 floor-m²
• Other buildings, for the part exceeding 400 floor-m²

In such cases, the charge is 20% of the calculated connection fee.

The connection fee is imposed separately for the water and sewer connection.

The same payment criteria are applied to property extensions.
A separate building with no water supply points is not included in the floor area above.

In case the connection fee imposed in this manner is unreasonable low or high, it will be confirmed based on the benefit of water supply to the property and the costs to the plant.

Transfer of Water and Sewer Network Agreement

The precondition for connection is that the accrued water payments have been made to the municipality.

• If you sell your property, send a notification of the owner change of the connection to the water supply plant in Tohmajärvi.
  Take a copy of the sales contract and give the water meter reading of the day on which the proprietary right is transferred. 
  Take the water meter reading together with the buyer. Also give your new address to send the final invoice to.
• When you purchase a property, discuss with the seller who will check the water meter reading to be reported to the water supply plant.
  Contact the customer service of the water supply plant and give your personal and contact information and the number of people moving to the new property for the estimated bill.
